4TL (For The Love) is a premier youth American football organization. It takes advantage of winter break as a time for opportunity for our young athletes. During this week, several young athletes will have the elite opportunity to compete in high-profile tournaments across Florida and Texas. The Mutiny 15U squad is among the featured teams making the trip. They represent the Southern New London County area on the national stage. They came to 4TL for final preparation for their trip.
The 4TL program recently gained significant regional attention after being featured on Fox 61 News. The segment highlighted the organization’s unique approach to young athlete development. Spring football is often overlooked in New England. However, it serves as a critical window for athletic growth and college exposure.
“Our mission is built on the belief that the off-season is the best time to build the foundation.” Coach Mike Preston, Founder and CEO at 4TL, expressed this. “By getting our athletes to hotbeds like Florida and Texas, we aren’t just giving them a chance to play. We’re giving them a chance to prove they can compete with the best in the country. This experience also helps them build the character they need to succeed long after they hang up their cleats.”
Developing Skills and Character
The 4TL coaching staff consists of dedicated professionals. They possess the skills, ability, and—most importantly—the passion to develop young athletes. The program focuses on a dual-pathway of excellence:
- On the Field: Advanced technical drills are conducted. Position-specific training is provided. High-level strategic play is designed to prepare athletes for high school and collegiate levels.
- Off the Field: A curriculum rooted in discipline, teamwork, and resilience. 4TL coaches serve as mentors, ensuring that every player learns the value of integrity and leadership.
Spotlight on Mutiny 15U
The Mutiny 15U team is based out of the Groton and New London region. They recently partnered with 4TL. This partnership supports their team development and preparation. As they prepare for their upcoming journey to Texas, these young men are not just representing their town. They also embody the growing talent of Connecticut football. The program offers a rare platform for these players. It allows scouts and recruiters across the nation to focus on them.
Opportunities for those at Home
For those players staying home, there were still opportunities for growth through two player-specific clinics: Catching & Receiving and Linebacker. Any available time 4TL seeks to organize activities to develop our athletes and support a healthy and active lifestyle.
